The number was unfamiliar; no voicemail was left, likely spam, so I blocked it.

Opinione dell’esperto
Imagine receiving a call from an unfamiliar Australian mobile number that never leaves a voicemail and just hangs up. That silence often signals a spam or scam attempt, especially when the caller offers no identification. The safest move is to block the number immediately and avoid calling back, as returning the call can confirm your line is active and invite more unwanted contacts. Keep a log of such numbers and report persistent offenders to your telecom provider or an online scam‑watch database. If you suspect fraud, consider notifying the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to help track the source.
