Following my accidental cancellation of a direct debit, I've been contacted by Amex's credit depatment, despite others claiming it's a fraudulant call
Verified by Amex on 30/12/23, this number is indeed used for scam calls aiming to obtain security details; a common tactic involves providing the first four digits of the card, which are generic and used by all cards to identify the provider; beware of postings suggesting legitimacy, as these may be from scammers exploiting a weakness in this website's posting system; never disclose security or login details over the phone
Legitimate call from AMEX regarding an overdue credit card payment. Paid over the phone, and my app updated instantly. To avoid future calls, log into your AMEX account and settle the payment; no need to pay over the phone.
