Today, I received a call from someone claiming to be part of the crime prevention team, but then they attempted to sell me advertising in a crime prevention magazine they are testing in my area against rogue traders. They stated my advert would be the only one from my trade. This is clearly a scam!!! I expressed potential interest, yet when I began to ask questions, their responses were nonsensical. When I requested a copy of the magazine, they couldn’t provide it. I asked for a website, which they gave me, but it doesn't exist. Numerous forums discuss this and similar scams, and the caller had a Liverpool accent, which many others have reported.
