Expert Opinion
Receiving a text with a dodgy link promising a UK government heating allowance screams scam alert right away, especially from a number hinting at a Philippines origin. These fraudsters prey on folks hoping for easy cash, often leading to phishing sites that steal personal details or install malware. Block the number immediately and report it to your phone provider or Action Fraud to help stop the rot. Never click links or share info—stick to official government websites for genuine claims. If you've already engaged, monitor your accounts closely and consider changing passwords for peace of mind.
