Opinione dell’esperto
Fraudsters often mask their calls with familiar names to dodge suspicion, yet these reports expose a blatant pattern of deceit. Silent hangs-ups and aggressive threats scream scam tactics, especially with the spoofed British number tied to distant origins like the US. Impersonators posing as BT or Microsoft push for remote PC access or personal details, aiming to hijack accounts or install malware. Hang up immediately if pressed for keys or info—never engage. Block the number via your phone or provider, and report to Action Fraud for tracking. Enabling call screening tools can filter such nuisances, keeping your line secure without the hassle.

The woman claimed to call regarding an insecure BT internet connection, though she never confirmed being from BT. Appeared spammy.
They identified themselves by name, saying they were from Microsoft, but hung up when I insisted I only deal in post.

There was no answer, yet I'm certain it's a scam; the call appears to originate from Carolina, USA, far from my location.
The call was silent and disconnected almost immediately, likely a scam.
Today I received a call from this number where fraudsters pretended to be BT. They warned that my PC was at risk and told me to press certain keys – a classic remote‑access scam. When I pressed for details, the caller grew hostile, threatening to block my BT account and levy charges. This is a malicious intimidation tactic.
