Expert Opinion
The bulk of reports point to a number that keeps ringing claiming to be British Gas, usually to set up or change a boiler service. While a few callers say the appointment was genuine, many describe silent drops, wrong post‑codes and vague details – classic signs of a spoof or scam call. If you receive such a call, verify the appointment by logging into your account or calling the official British Gas number, never share personal or payment details, and block the number if it feels off. Reporting the number to the telecom regulator can also help curb the nuisance.
