Someone called Matthew said he was from SSC, a Scottish power firm, then hung up when I asked for a repeat – same bloke calling from different numbers, classic energy scam, mate. Reported it to Ofcom’s 7726 spam site.

Expert Opinion
Up north in the chill of a Scottish evening, calls from this number often start with a smooth-talking Matthew posing as an SSE rep, pushing dodgy energy deals. Hang up sharpish if they dodge details or pressure you—it's a classic scam tactic to hook the unwary. Block the line and report via Ofcom's 7726 service to curb these pests. If they ring from varied numbers, note the pattern; persistent chancers like this thrive on silence. Stay vigilant, verify any claims directly with your actual supplier, and never share personal info over unsolicited calls.
