Got a message about a £459.99 charge from Joe Plumbing via Barclays, but it’s a con – best not to ring back, yeah.
Message claimed to be from Barclays: ‘Proceed with purchase of £459.99 to JOE PLUMBING using *****3. If this wasn’t you call 0330 133 5467 from 07845 745711’. Obviously a scam. Cheers.
Similar to earlier cases, a text from 07355 576040 claimed to be Barclays and Joe Plumbing, urging a reply to 0330 133 5467.
Received a fraudulent Barclays invoice for a stay at the Hilton Hotel.
The phishing text read: ‘Barclays – using code XXXXXX you’ve approved £469.99 to Hilton Hotel. If that wasn’t you, call 0330 133 5467.’ Do not ring that number, yeah.
