Register with the Telephone Preference Service straight away if you haven't already, to cut down on unsolicited calls. These reports suggest persistent nuisance callers, often using spoofed numbers to push scams like diesel emissions claims or fake insulation offers. Hang up immediately on robocalls or unsolicited pitches—never engage or provide details. If it's a silent call, note the time and report to Action Fraud for potential harassment. Blocking helps short-term, but these operators rotate numbers, so stay vigilant and consider apps that flag unknowns. Keep records of patterns to strengthen complaints to Ofcom.

My mobile was pinged by an Asian‑based centre about a Diesel Emissions claim – I never filed one, so it's obviously a scam.
Living in Manchester, I got a call today, ignored it and blocked the number.
