I received a call on my cellular telephone (no less) from this number, and the gentleman wanted to confirm my company name and job title. He spoke English with a thick accent of some sort (not British) and already knew my name, surname, company name, job title and, obviously, my cell number; I was only required to confirm what he told me. Most of this information is freely available on LinkedIn, but my cell number is not. He did mention his company's name, but the line went scratchy just at that point. He asked if I could hear him, and when I said the line was bad, he said he would send me an e-mail without confirming my e-mail address and quickly rang off. I feel very uncomfortable after the fact, even though I did not volunteer any information from my side.
