Hang up immediately if the call mentions a recent car accident you never had. Accident scams often use a recorded voice and pressure you for personal details, then disappear when you ask for verification. Block the number on your handset and add it to your phone’s spam filter. Report the nuisance to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and, if the call feels threatening, to Action Fraud. Never confirm any information or make payments without contacting your insurer or the relevant authority directly. Keep a log of repeated calls; patterns help regulators track caller ID spoofing operations and protect others.

For six months, I have been receiving frequent calls from a pre-recorded woman, averaging four calls per month, each time using a different company name, despite my requests to be removed from their list.

Repeated calls about car accident claims. I've blocked previous numbers, but they keep calling. It's amusing to respond with chicken noises: BRRRK BRRRK!!
