They pretended to conduct a Wall Street Journal survey, requesting just a minute of my time, but I politely refused—multiple times.

Opinión del experto
Clearly, these calls appear to be unsolicited scams targeting anyone with a UK‑origin number. Most callers use broken English, claim to conduct financial surveys or Wall Street Journal research, and hang up as soon as you react. Ignoring unknown numbers is the safest first step; let them go to voicemail and verify any reference before responding. Register your handset on the national do not call list and enable carrier‑level call‑blocking features. Consider third‑party apps that flag suspicious patterns and regularly update your contact blocklist. If a call feels pushy or asks for personal finance details, end the conversation and report it to the Information Commissioner’s Office for further security monitoring. Staying vigilant protects your privacy and prevents potential fraud.

The connection was severed shortly after the caller spoke their first name, and given the previous comments, I will not be answering if they call again.
Net opgenomen. Niet echt opgelet en meteen weer opgehangen. Spijtig. Volgende keer zal ik dat zeker niet meer doen.

Did not answer as the number was unknown, appears to be from England, now blocked
Recently contacted by this number. As I have relatives in England, I answered without hesitation. A woman with poor English knew my surname, which I hadn’t mentioned, and claimed to be calling from London on behalf of the Wall Street Journal, asking for my initials. After hanging up, I searched the number online and found I’m not the only one who’s been contacted. I’m curious about their true intentions.
This number has contacted me again, but I didn't answer, as is my usual practice when they call.
Received a call but it was not answered.
