Since I was expecting a call from my GP, I picked up. An Indian voice mentioned council housing, then hung up when I asked for details – clearly a scam.

Avis d’expert
Reports consistently highlight unsolicited calls claiming urgent social housing repairs, targeting recipients who often don't qualify. Such tactics scream scam, with callers quickly hanging up when challenged or after brief scripts. No legitimate service operates this way, especially from unknown international numbers. Practical steps include blocking the number immediately, registering with the Telephone Preference Service to cut spam, and reporting to Action Fraud if details were shared. Stay vigilant—verify any repair claims directly with your local council. Hang-ups or accents don't confirm legitimacy; trust actions over words.

A woman with an Indian accent claimed to be from a social‑housing repair team. As I don’t reside in social housing, I flagged it as spam and blocked the line.
