A caller claiming to be "Michael", with a foreign accent and a spotty connection, discussed landline upgrades; I wasn't convinced it was BT, so I asked them to call back later.

Expertenmeinung
A dodgy call comes through on a crackly line, with a chap claiming to be 'Michael' pushing landline upgrades that sound too good to be true. The foreign accent and poor connection scream scam alert, not genuine BT outreach—searches might flag the number, but trust your gut here. BT handles the infrastructure, sure, but they don't cold-call for vague 'upgrades' like this. Hang up sharpish next time; no need to engage. Block the number pronto, and report it to Ofcom or Action Fraud to help others dodge the hassle. Keep your details locked down—scammers thrive on confusion.
