I was contacted by a debt collection company called Advantis, who are used by HMRC, and it was a genuine call, as they were chasing up a tax credits overpayment from 4 years ago, which i was not aware of, so i contacted HMRC directly and they confirmed it was a real debt, and a legitamate company
