Months of recieved calls atleast twice daily, messages left for a Mt Jones, as a housebound 75 year old woman, this harasment is unbeareable, tryed contacting HMRC but gave up after nearly an hour on hold.

For the past two to three weeks, my landline has been inundated with calls from this number, at least twice daily, and they've started leaving messages for a Mr JONES, which is unfortunate as it's a common surname in Wales, where I reside, and I'm not the person they're looking for, having no outstanding debts with HMRC, their efforts are futile and I'm at a loss for how to stop these calls, which are becoming increasingly frustrating, especially since I rely on my landline for important calls from the hospital and friends.

I got a automated announcment from BT, it said press 2 if you wasnt expecting this call, it was pretty weird

When I picked up the phone, I was greeted with a message saying "nobody is here to take your call at the moment", which was quite confusing.
Ignore that previous remark. This is definitely an HMRC scam. Received a text from 07929 672745 requesting I call 0141 846 2125 about an HMRC debt. Checking this mobile will surely reveal scam reports.
Apparently BPO are working on behalf of HMRC, but the informations not always acurate, it takes months for HMRC to update the informations, I work with an accountancy firm and we get alot of calls from BPO
