Over the past three days, I have received multiple calls asking for someone else, and the caller hung up each time

The number 01217329830 has called multiple times. I'm fed up with them lately. I avoid answering calls from unknown numbers, yet they continue to be a nuisance. Grateful for this site, as it helps me know I'm not ignoring important calls!

A person called asking for someone else, which I believe was a scam, and I promptly ended the call

This is a scam; they asked for a Mrs Oney and then hung up. This is the third time they have called. A complete nuisance!

A woman asked for me by name, then abruptly ended the call with a startled 'oh god' after I confirmed my identity.

Missed the call. Since my wife is expecting something from a Birmingham clinic, I rang back. All I got was music. The people behind these calls are disgraceful. They should be ashamed of how they earn a living. Get a proper job, you absolute rubbish! To Theresa May: Make cold calling illegal now and prosecute both the companies and their employees. Maybe then they’ll understand.

No one spoke when I answered. I’ve since blocked it.

The caller asked if there was anyone in the house on income support, sounded like he was walking outside, which I found worrying.
