Numerous calls from this number, plus five to six consecutive rings from unknown firms, all knowing my meter reference, name and postcode – clearly an energy scam.
Someone pretending to be SSE asked about satisfaction with the bill for “Door Number X” and warned of rising rates – obviously a scam.
They claimed to represent British Gas Lite, yet our business uses only the online service – they never call. Pure scam.
Watch out for this number and 01827700777 – both called today pretending to be from British Gas Lite about product caps, wanting to speak to the owner. The caller later admitted it was him, saying they sometimes use different numbers. That was a lie; after a brief exchange I hung up.
This turned out to be a scam after I’d just signed a fixed contract with Eon for my business; a caller pretended to be from EON, claimed they were doubling my standing charge and kilowatt price, asked for my broker’s name, and I told them to go away – if they were genuine they’d have known the details. Bloody pain in the arse.
They pretended to be from NG Power; when I questioned the ruse, they hung up – a total scam.
