A woman claiming to represent AIB called, but refused to disclose the purpose of the call until personal details were provided

I got three back‑to‑back calls from a woman asking for my AIB card number; she even mentioned my recent transaction, and I foolishly gave my name and address. When I called back, a lady said she was from AIB and warned me not to share details.

Several calls came from this number; each time I picked up, the line was disconnected, and a callback prompted me for my 16‑digit card number. Definitely a red flag, so I blocked the number and observed occasional call attempts in the log.

Within 30 minutes, this number rang me twice; on the second call, a man with a foreign accent claimed to be from AIB, knowed my christian name, but I dont have any account with AIB, so I told him he's a crook and hang up
