Picture this: your phone lights up with +27873104296, and the call drops in multiple times a day, each time offering a “special” data deal or asking for personal details. Most users describe the line as a relentless telemarketing grind, often masquerading as Vodacom, MTN or other telecoms, and many flag it as a scam. The safest move is to ignore unknown offers, record the caller ID, and add the number to your block list or report it to your carrier. If the caller asks for account info, hang up immediately and verify through official channels. Consistent blocking and reporting will reduce the nuisance.

The firm focuses on pressuring callers into signing contracts with Vodacom, Telkom, Cell‑C and the like. It’s essentially a rude sales call centre crew. By the way, you can find the complete block list here: https://www.buymondo.co.za/telkom/support/missed-calls/
A telemarketer, unaware I work for Cell C, had my details and tried to push 3G/LTE as faster than 40 Mb VDSL, claiming my data costs exceed R150/GB. When I mentioned my Cell C employment and better offers elsewhere, she hung up. I reported it to MondoMobile ([email protected]); Triston said he’d retrieve call logs and investigate, suspecting Telkom supplied my info.
Also they use 031 830 7500. My Tab got a call from Vodacom too, but no one recognizes that number – thanks for leaking my details, Vodacom, never dealing with you again, bro.

My bank card was declined and R3000 was withdrawn just before I started receiving numerous calls from this number. Could it be a coincidence?
If they call, act interested and force them to spell out exactly what they’re selling. Keep the phone close, listen—if they keep babbling, you’ve got a 95% chance they won’t call again! You’re basically creating jobs, education, and burning their cash, lol.

Calls came from this number and 0873104296 on the same day, both claiming to be Vodacom telemarketers.
A mischievous 16‑year‑old neighbour from Nylstroom called my daughter on Saturday 06/02/2016 using this line. I recognised the number when it missed me this morning.

Oplichting
Got a call from 0873104296 pitching Screen Insurance, with the lady claiming to be from Vodacom. I fell for it! Called Vodacom later, and nobody knew about such a product – no record of any application. Clearly a scam, and now I'm worried they have all my details already, man.

On Android you can: 1) create a new contact, 2) block it, 3) add all such numbers to that contact, and 4) you’ll never hear from them again :)

What’s the method to stop these numbers from reaching us?
Someone pretended to be from Mondo on behalf of Telkom and listed my wife as the “account holder,” even though that information was inaccurate, yet they knew many details.

I'm exhausted from daily calls from this number, a problem that’s persisted over two months. Nobody speaks when I answer, and they’ve even started ringing at night.

I received missed calls from this line, and when I tried returning, it reported the number as unavailable.
According to my findings, the company claims to call on behalf of Vodacom, but I traced the number back to DSTV, the only place where that name appears.
