Bottom line: these calls are classic telemarketing tactics masquerading as a free offer. The caller pretends to be from DIRECTV, uses a non‑local number, and promises complimentary add‑on packages that automatically enroll you unless you act within a short 12‑hour cancel window. Because the enrollment is automatic, consumers often end up paying for services they never requested. The safest move is to hang up, never provide personal or payment information, and independently verify any promotion by logging into your official DIRECTV account or contacting their official support line. Consider adding the number to a block list or using your carrier’s spam‑filter tools.
