Like an unwelcome doorbell that never rings, a silent call can mask a hidden agenda. Many callers use vague or empty introductions to gauge whether you’ll reveal personal details before they reveal their true purpose. If a voice claims you’re an emergency contact or threatens investigation, pause and verify independently; never provide your name, address, or personal info. Block the number through your phone or carrier, and file a complaint with the FTC or local consumer protection agency. Keep a log of dates and content to help authorities spot patterns. Stay skeptical and protect your privacy.
