When a caller says they're from PG&E or PSE&G and threatens that your service will be shut off, the vibe feels like a classic utility‑scam ploy. These fraudsters rely on urgency and fear to push you into returning a call or providing personal data. Let the call end before you share any account numbers, and verify the claim by hanging up and dialing the official company line from a bill or website. Never click links or press numbers spoken on the spot. If you suspect a scam, report the number to the FTC and your carrier to help block future attempts.
