Yesterday evening, a wave of calls from the 877‑521‑6773 line left many recipients uneasy. The pattern points to a medical‑focused debt collector that often asks for names, birth dates, SSNs, or payment details without clearly identifying the agency. When a call feels vague or aggressive, hang up immediately and avoid sharing any personal information. Document the call time, number, and script, then report it to the FTC and your state’s consumer protection office. Consider adding the number to your phone’s block list or using a third‑party call blocking app. Regularly monitor credit reports for unauthorized activity and request a written validation of any alleged debt.

It is worth noting that someone mentioned a mom being harassed, and it is a problem when people disregard their bills, expecting others to cover the costs. If individuals were more diligent about paying their bills, debt collection would not be necessary, and honest people who require medical care but cannot afford it would not be burdened by the expenses of those who neglect their financial obligations.
Some people beleive that when somone passes away, their debt disapears, but thats not the case, collecing debt is a job that requires understanding and emphathy, and its importint to follow the laws and regulatins, otherwise people could avoid paying their debts, which would be unresponible
It is essential to take responsibility for understanding one's insurance coverage and communicating with healthcare providers to avoid unnecessary issues
You should checkout hippa laws, no secondary agency can know your info, even if they work with hospital, you're insurance company can send you a eob but wont know about collections, you can just pay the bill in person, sounds like some people is trying to scam and get free ride
It appears that the 'Princess of Pouter' was the target of a scathing comment, but the author's lack of attention to detail raises suspicions about their credibility.
It's claimed that they have all the necessary information, yet they fail to prove any debt allegations, misusing the "Foti" court decision to contact numerous people indiscriminately.
It might be helpful to call back and request to speak with a supervisor or office manager
It's crucial to understand the implications of acronyms like HIPAA and FDCPA, especially in the context of medical debt collection, which is often involuntary and prone to fraudulent practices
The FCC's inability to intervene in these matters means individuals must take action themselves; advice on handling misdirected skip trace calls can be found here:
There is no certainty regarding the character of the prior number holder or the validity of the debts being pursued.
It seems that 'Princess' has misinterpreted the post, as there is no mention of a deceased brother or mother, and instead appears to be defensively reacting to a perceived scam
Perhaps you should take a course in reading comprehension, dont go posting bad advices on old posts
Six months ago, these callers contacted me for Jupiter medical center, I told them, the call they dialed is not Forida, I spoke to supervisor, they said it would stop, and it did.. up until today when I got another voicemail... The FCC will be getting a report from me ASAP
The callers were searching for the previous owner of my number, who apparently owed a debt; despite assurances from three different people that the calls would stop, I received another call at 7AM on Saturday and plan to report it to the FCC.
A letter was received, which may be genuine
It's essential to understand that debt collectors have access to personal information and must verify the identity of the debtor, as mandated by law; this doesn't necessarily indicate a scam.
Repeated calls from this number have been ignored, as they are likely from scammers attempting to obtain personal information under false pretenses
Following the passing of my brother in December, this number contacted my mother's residence; I vehemently warned them against contacting her again, and I am determined to uncover the identity of those responsible.
When asked to identify themselves, these callers refuse and instead demand personal information, ending the call when questioned further.
