The scammers pose as process servers or attorneys, claim sealed court files, and threaten service at work or home, all to extract money for a fake “stop‑order.” They often have partial personal data to appear credible, but genuine process servers never call ahead. Never provide personal or financial info, and do not call the number they gave. Block the caller, delete the voicemail, and verify any alleged lawsuit directly with the courthouse or a trusted attorney. Staying skeptical and cutting off the line stops the cycle.

For about six months now, these people have been calling me, voicemail is always threatening to serve me legal paperwork at my job
