Despite having a spam filter in place, I received a voicemail on July 22, 2024, at 10:10 am, claiming an urgent issue with my Google Business listing, which I found puzzling given my long-standing presence on the DNC list.

Bottom line: the call from 866‑586‑3280 is almost certainly a phishing scam masquerading as a Google Business Listing issue. Callers use a pre‑recorded robocall and pressure you to call back quickly, often citing an "urgent" problem. Never share login credentials or payment info with unsolicited callers, and verify any claim by contacting Google directly through official channels. Block the number, report it to the FCC, and mark the call as spam in your phone app. If you’re on the DNC list, the call violates regulations, so you can also file a complaint with the FTC. Stay cautious and protect your business data.

Repeated calls from this number are attempts to deceive; further calls will be met with hostility.
The Business Directory Center, purportedly located in Florida, uses this number to leave pre-recorded messages about urgent issues with Google Business Listings, prompting calls to another number, but they only operate until 5 PM Eastern.
This appears to be a scam, as they purport to need to discuss a Google business listing, which is reportedly fake, sharing similarities with operations linked to the number 443-345-8303, as indicated by comments left for that number.
These individuals are masquerading as representatives of a company affiliated with Google, falsely claiming that my business listing is unverified, and are likely perpetrators of a scam, unable to secure legitimate employment.
