Earlier today, a caller pretended to represent U.S. Customs or Border Patrol, a classic impersonation scam. Verify the caller’s identity before sharing personal data, and hang up if the request feels off. Use the official agency websites or phone numbers to confirm any outreach. Enable call‑blocking features on your smartphone and consider a reputable third‑party service to filter suspicious numbers. Report the incident to the FTC and to the actual agency being spoofed. Regularly review your credit reports for unknown activity, and educate household members about common tactics used in government‑impersonation scams and keep a log of the call details for future reference.
