They cant just garnish your wages without taking you to court and wining, appartently they would have to prove you owe the debt, which they cant do
Apparently, someone contacted me claiming I had an outstanding pay day loan from 2016, which is compleatly untrue as I wasnt employed then. The caller demanded $600 and mencioned a person named Thomas Hughes, threatening to garnish my wages if I didnt pay.
I recived an unsolictated text message from a person named Thomas Hughes, my cell phone recoqnized it as spam and it was very unsettling!
I've had a similiar experiance, i recieved a text message and now they're harrasing people they think i know

This seems to be a scam, apprently the Mediation Department is trying to get people to pay upfront for a debt that doesnt exsist, I've done some reseach and alot of people have recieved simmilar texts
