Ever wonder why a voicemail mentions an outpatient appointment you never scheduled? That’s a classic sign of a phishing or spam call pretending to be a medical office. Callers often use specific details—like a patient name or a clinic location—to appear legitimate, but they rarely have a way to verify your identity. Hang up, delete the message, and never share personal info or click links. If you suspect a legitimate provider, call the official number from their website, not the one in the voicemail. Register the number with your carrier’s spam blocker and report it to the FTC’s complaint portal. Stay skeptical and keep your health data safe.
