Opinione dell’esperto
Block the number immediately if you suspect a scam. These calls often pretend to be NV Energy and threaten an imminent power shut‑off unless you pay a bogus fee. Never share personal or payment information over the phone, especially when the caller pressures you to act within minutes. Verify any alleged outage by logging into your utility’s official website or calling the number on your bill, not the one displayed on the caller ID. Use your phone’s built‑in blocking feature or a reputable call‑blocking app, and report the incident to the FTC and your state consumer protection agency. Staying skeptical and confirming through official channels can stop these spoof attacks and keep your data safe.

At 10 am on 10/4/22, I answered a call from a woman who claimed to be calling about my bill, stating that I needed to pay it again to avoid shut-off due to issues with their system, but I had already paid and offered to provide my payment receipt as proof.

There's no legitimate reason for a Las Vegas utility company to contact me, so this number should be blocked.
I got a call claiming that my power would be disconnected if I didn't pay to upgrade my meter, but I refused to pay and contacted NV energy instead
The call originated from India.
It's been several years since I lived in Nevada, and my utilities were paid in full at my former apartment complex, so I am uncertain why I would be contacted now.
It is advisable not to answer calls from this number.
Despite being a business number, the call was identified as a scam
Given that I haven't lived in Las Vegas for years, it's unlikely that this call is from a utility company.
Terrible experience

This number is from scammers, they just want to steal your money
When dealing with unwanted callers, a simple statement that you have no funds and then disconnecting the call can be effective in getting them to hang up.
Threats were made to cut off service unless a payment was made immediately, but the name provided was fake and not associated with my NV energy account.
This appears to be related to a power company.
Apparently, its NVEnergy
Following a power outage, a local utility provider made a follow-up call for customer service, which was a welcome gesture.
A callback was made regarding the status of a power outage.
This is a âPower Companyâ scam being brought out again. Warning to all - the power company NEVER calls you to collect money. NEVER give these thieves a dime, make an excuse and call your power company to report it!
