Oddly enough, a number that doesn't exist can still send you a text. If you receive a message from an unfamiliar or invalid source like a fake Bell alert, treat it as a red flag. Avoid clicking any links or replying with personal details, and consider reporting the incident to your carrier or the FTC. Use your phone's spam filters and enable any built‑in block features to stop future messages. A quick reverse lookup can confirm whether the number is legitimate. Keep your device software updated and stay skeptical of unsolicited offers—your best defense is vigilance.
