Watch for unknown numbers that drop silent calls or claim to know personal details—these are red flags. If a call comes without a voicemail and the caller instantly references a name or relationship you don't recognize, hang up and verify through a trusted channel. Avoid returning calls to unfamiliar area codes; instead, block the number and report it to your carrier. When a stranger mentions collection agencies, treat it as a potential robocall or social engineering attempt. Keep your caller ID settings active and consider a call‑blocking app for extra protection.
