This is a blatant scam, where the perpetrators claim to be from Microsoft, attempting to gain access to personal computers to steal information and sell fake antivirus software

After receiving a call claiming issues with my Windows Computer, I informed them I've been using Macs since the 80's and asked to be removed from their list, yet I continued to receive calls with incorrect information about my Mac.

Following a call from an individual claiming to be Peter, I inquired about his religious affiliation and mentioned the concept of Karma in relation to scamming activities, which seemed to unsettle him.

Dialing the number now yields an operator recording stating it's out of service, suggesting a temporary victory against potential spam.

A call was made claiming to be from Microsoft, but I recognized it as a scam. The individual insisted that an IP address had been generated from my address, and when I mentioned that it could belong to my roommate, who was supposedly at work, I provided them with the phone number of the local FBI office, pretending it was my roommate's contact information. It's worth noting that I don't actually have a roommate.

This number has made multiple calls, but when I answer, there's no response. Previous calls from similar numbers have involved solicitation attempts to remove a supposed 'virus' from my computer, despite it running smoothly. The caller has a distinct accent, not typical of the region where I reside. My policy is to never disclose information unless it's in person and the individual can provide verification.

After receiving a call from this number, which claimed to be from Tacoma, WA, I blocked my number and called back to test my suspicions. The number didn't answer, and after several attempts, it disconnected. I then unblocked my number and called again, recording the conversation. As expected, it was a spoofed number, with a recording stating that it was a non-working number.

According to W.P. this number is listed as high risk for scam or fraud.

The caller said my computer was infected with virus, but when i ask him for his number, he change the subject, this is definately a scam, dont give them any informations.

A cyber tech technician claimed my computer had a virus, and i must stress that it's crucial never to share personal information with unsolicited callers

This morning, I received a call from this number, and it's clear that scammers are relentless; thanks to everyone who shares information about these scams.

A gentleman with a strong Indian accent called from Tacoma saying we had a problem with our computer, but we dont even have a computer

A man claiming to be Peter from a company affiliated with Best Buy contacted me, stating there were issues with my computer and requesting I log in and provide details, which led me to end the call.

Some guy called about my computer, but i told him not to call me again, and thats it

It's frustrating that these calls persist, and as someone living on SS, I'm unable to afford gadgets or services to block them, and wish there was a more effective solution.

The caller, supposedly Peter, had a Middle Eastern accent and claimed I had given permission for the call, which I disputed, leading to him hanging up on me.

Today, i recieved a call from 253-272-9242, claiming to be from Microsoft, and saying i had a virus on my computer. But i have multiple computers, so i asked him which one had the virus, and he didnt know what to say. I told him i only use I-macs and that he was a scammer, and he hung up
