I noticed the label 'SiriusXM' appeared above the number, yet a reverse lookup gave a completely different name. Since the number isn’t in my contacts and I have zero ties to Sirius, I just ignored the call. hey

Opinión del experto
A call from an unfamiliar number displaying 'SiriusXM' but linked to a mismatched reverse lookup screams potential spoofing—a common trick scammers use to impersonate legit companies. In this case, the discrepancy suggests it's not the real SiriusXM reaching out, especially since there's no prior connection. Smart move skipping the answer; unknown calls like this often lead to aggressive pitches or data grabs. To stay safe, block the number immediately, report it to the FTC at donotcall.gov, and consider apps like Truecaller for future checks. If they leave a voicemail, don't call back—verify directly through official channels instead.
