Just now I received a call from this number; after answering, only hold music played. Previously, someone called asking for another person, then the woman hung up and the Cell C quality review prompt started. I hung up again—absurd!

Ever wonder why a single number keeps popping up in your missed‑call list? Most of the complaints point to a Cell C telemarketing operation that relies on automated tones, brief greetings and immediate hang‑ups to verify active numbers. The safest move is to let the call go to voicemail, then block the caller on your handset or through your carrier’s spam‑filter. Follow up by filing a complaint with the national communications regulator and, if possible, add the number to a Do‑Not‑Call registry. When you finally answer, ask for a written request to stop future calls and keep a record of the interaction. Taking these steps can curb the nuisance and protect your privacy.

After receiving a couple of missed calls from this number and a voicemail featuring two men—one coughing, the other laughing—I wondered why it happened. I tried calling back, but the number appears invalid.
When the line rang, a voicemail played only the sound of a chicken clucking, and after I tried calling back to speak with the so‑called chicken man, I was told the number was invalid.
Just now I got a call from this number; the voice on the other end said, "Hi ma’am, I think I've already called you—did I?" I answered yes and they hung up immediately.
Recently I received a comparable call, and upon answering, it turned out to be a recorded insurance advertisement!
