Opinión del experto

Like a leaky faucet, these unwanted magazine calls keep dripping until you shut the valve. The number 877‑346‑8509 shows up on the label of various free‑gift magazines and is tied to a subscription‑fulfillment service that often hands out unsolicited copies. Because no purchase was made, the sender usually treats the delivery as a “gift” under postal rules, but the follow‑up call can be a phishing trap to harvest personal data. Best practice is to never share address, SSN, or payment info over the phone, request a written opt‑out, and flag the sender with the USPS and FTC. You can also add the number to your phone’s block list and monitor your credit reports for any unexpected activity.

I received a magazine with my address but a fake name, and suspect it may be a scam, as I didn't order it and have received several similar magazines with different names.

I've had a similar experience with magazines being sent to me that I never ordered. According to postal rules, these are considered gifts, so I either read them, throw them away, or recycle them. It's inconvenient, but there's not much I can do about it.
