Never give out personal data to unsolicited texts. When a message claims your address verification is ‘undeliverable’ and asks you to call a short‑code, treat it as a red flag. Scammers often use your name or maiden name to add credibility, then pressure you for the last two digits of your Social Security Number or other verification details. Block the number, report it to the FCC and your carrier, and never click links or reply. If you’re unsure, contact the legitimate company directly using an official phone number you find on a bill or their website. Remember, sharing personal info with a scam can lead to identity theft.

A similar incident occurred, where the caller asked for my ex-wife, citing a mismatch in occupant information, which has raised significant trust concerns.
